Eligibility

The Main Competition Group Stage will kick off featuring the 13 players who qualified from the Offline Qualifier alongside Shaun 'Brandsha' Galea the winner of the previous season. Each of these 14 players will be officially representing a club from the Malta BOV Premier League.

Format

Group Stage

Players will be facing each other on 1 leg. Points will be as follows; three points will be awarded for a win, one point for a tie, and zero points for a loss. In the event of ties in point standings, the following sequence will be used to determine who advances to the next stage: 

  1. Points earned from their group matches.

  2. Result of head to head game.

  3. Goal difference: Total net score for tournament games. Net score = goals scored, less goals scored against.

  4. Goals scored: Total number of goals scored in the group.

  5. Goals conceded: Total number of goals conceded in the group. 

  6. Player Rank: This is calculated on the placement of players in the Offline Qualifiers having LukeBartolo99, Turbulense, and Brandsha at a higher priority

The first four players from Group A and Group B will advance to the knockout stage.

Knockout Stage

It will feature the 8 players who manage to progress from the Group Stage. The players’ standings will be used as seeding to determine the bracket structure, meaning a player that placed first in a group will be drawn against someone that placed fourth from another group etc... A double-elimination format will be used, having each match played on 1 leg until the Malta BOV ePremier League winner is determined.

All matches will use the retail version of EA FC Ultimate Team Competitive Malta BOV ePremier League game mode.

Region

All matches will be played LIVE from the studio on direct servers.

Team Requirements

All competing players will be using open accounts but a budget will be given to each player before each Group Stage game week and the Knockout Stage. Further rules regarding the budget and team requirements will be communicated separately to the players and on social media.

No Shows

Players must be present at the studio at least 1 hour before the start of the first match. There is no, No Show grace period meaning that if the match has to start at 9PM and a player is not there he will automatically get a 3-0 forfeit. 

Should a player have any hardware or software problem, the match admin has the right to delay the start of the match.

If a player is late or else decides to forfeit or leave in the middle of a game the officials have the right to automatically disqualify the player from the tournament and all his played and still to play matches will result as 3-0.

Time Limit

Both players must report any problems within 5 minutes of its completion. Players cannot start a complaint after the 5 minutes compilation time is over.

Disconnections

In the event of a disconnect, the game should be resumed with an implied score and the remaining time in the match played out. It is important to contact a match official once a game gets disconnected. 

Cheating

Breaking any rule and any form of cheating, glitching, abusing in-game mechanics, or unsportsmanlike behavior may result in a forfeit of a game, match, or ban from the Malta BOV ePremier League. A tournament official must verify accusations of cheating, glitching, and abusing in-game mechanics. Punishable unsportsmanlike behavior includes, but is not limited to, excessive use of foul or degrading language. For all cheating claims, the burden of proof is on the accuser.

Behavior

All players must act professionally and display good sportsmanship throughout the qualifiers. This includes all forms of communication, such as discord, in-game chat, etc. A Code of conduct from the official rulebook will be in place. 

Warnings

A player may get a warning if he does not obey the code of conduct available in the rules section.

Disqualifications

A player may be disqualified if he does not obey the code of conduct available in the rules section.

These rules are subject to change if necessary, and Malta BOV ePremier League administrators reserve the right to make additional decisions outside the defined ruleset if necessary
