Player Development Programme: Tournament #1

Eligibility

Qualifiers are open to all Maltese residents with a valid EA Account who are 16 years of age or older at the time of registration. The player must be a verified user on the Malta BOV ePremier League website.

Format

Maximum of 64 Single Elimination Tournament, Best out of 1 match. In case of a tie, the match will go to extra time and penalties. Should this not be available, 2nd Match will be played as Golden Goal.

All matches will use the retail version of FIFA 23 Ultimate Team Friendly game mode. Players will have to add each other as friends on the Playstation platform before playing.

Game Version

All matches must be played on the PS5 version of the game. 

Technical Requirements

All players should have the following:

- A copy of FIFA 23 on their PS account.
- A PSN Plus activated on the account.

Team Requirements

Once a match starts, a player has 20 minutes from the in-game time to complain that his opponent is not abiding by one of the below rules. Should the 20-minute time pass, it will automatically mean that both players are in agreement, and therefore, one cannot complain after.

• The squad can include up to 3 ICON/TOTY total, including your bench.
• Up to 4 non-ICON players with an OVR rating of 90 or higher.
• All other players must have an OVR rating of 89 or below. 
• The goalkeeper has no restriction and does not count towards the above limits. 
• Loan items are permitted.
• Players should each have a light-coloured and dark-coloured jersey and choose the opposite to one another to avoid confusion. If Players can’t agree, the home player should choose a dark-coloured jersey and the away player a light-coloured jersey.
• Stadiums must have white lines and white goal nets.

Time Limit and Score Reporting

Both players must report the match results within 10 minutes of its completion. Players need to check that they are logged in to their profile on the website and report the result directly. Failure to report the match results on time or respond to any messages that you receive from a tournament official may result in you receiving the loss. Players cannot start a complaint after the 10 minutes compilation time is over or a match result was accepted.

No Shows

All no-shows must be reported on the website with proof that the opponent didn't add you. The No Show grace period is 10 minutes after the match's original start time. For example, if a match is scheduled for 22:00, the no-show time for this match would be 22:10. It is essential to contact the tournament official after posting a no-show on the website. 

Should a player have any hardware or software problem, the match admin has the right to call a no-show once the 10-minute grace period is over.

Players may not voluntarily forfeit a Match without prior authorization from Tournament Organizers and, are subject to further penalties for forfeiting.

Disconnections

In the event of a disconnect, the game should be resumed with an implied score and the remaining time in the match played out.

Cheating

Breaking any rule and any form of cheating, glitching, abusing in-game mechanics, or unsportsmanlike behaviour may result in a forfeit of a game, match, or ban from the Malta BOV ePremier League. A tournament official must verify accusations of cheating, glitching, and abusing in-game mechanics. Punishable unsportsmanlike behaviour includes, but is not limited to, excessive use of foul or degrading language. For all cheating claims, the burden of proof is on the accuser.

Recording

Players should record all their matches using the built-in recording on their console or external recording device; these should be saved and available to be uploaded in case of a dispute.

Behaviour

All players must act professionally and display good sportsmanship throughout the qualifiers. This includes all forms of communication, such as discord, in-game chat, etc. A Code of conduct from the official rulebook will be in place. 

Warnings

A player may get a warning if he does not obey the code of conduct available in the rules section.

Disqualification

A player may be disqualified if he does not obey the code of conduct available in the rules section.
