Announcing the Malta BOV ePremier League 2021/22 Season - More Performance than Ever

For an event such as the Malta BOV ePremier League, the amount of collaboration involved is simply incredible. Accordingly, apart from marrying the local traditional football scene with a new budding esports scene, with international companies such as EA Sports collaborating with local passionate entities such as the Malta FA and GMR, there are also sponsors to thank.

As you can imagine from its namesake, BOV continues to display their staunch dedication to local esports as they remain the name sponsor for the third consecutive year. Once again, BeExclusive: Register Your Trademark and Design will be the exclusive content partner while Pepsi will be once more sponsoring the Player of the Week and People's Choice awards.

The Malta BOV ePremier League will be also welcoming onboard Melita, Jack Links: Beef Jerky and The Point Shopping Mall, and to make sure that you don't miss any action, Malta's National TV Station - TVM, will be the official media partner, covering the competition on TVMNews+.

Such sponsors make everything possible, as local players rise to stardom with the chance to be crowned the winner, such as Christian Spiteri last season for Santa Lucia. Moreover, with this year's local Premier League being reduced to 12 football clubs, the Malta BOV ePremier League Main Competition phase will boil down to 12 Maltese FIFA competitors each representing one of them.

Speaking of crowning champions, the format this year has been revised in order to freshen things up. The competition will span across 4 separate stages of play, namely Online Qualifiers, Offline Qualifiers, Group Stage, and finally the Live KO Stage. In terms of runtime, the competition will kick-off this December and conclude in May 2022.

Furthermore, matches during the online/offline qualifiers will be played on PS4, while the Group Stage onwards brings the next-gen console as we hop onto the PS5. Yes, we said it, making the Malta BOV ePremier League 2021/22 Season the very first major local esports competition officially being played on PS5. With the EA SPORTS FIFA 22 Ultimate Team version being the title of choice, competitive FIFA has never seen such performance.

To really top it all off, apart from pride, the winner is also be eligible for a highly coveted seat to the EA Global Series Playoff Phase, giving players a greater chance to seek international glory.
